The 2025 edition

From July 21st to 27th, 2025, the Piazzale Frigo arena, overlooking Lake Bolsena, hosted the nineteenth edition of the Est Film Festival. The competition, as per tradition, was reserved for Italian debut directors or those presenting their second work: five films competed for the Golden Arch awarded by the jury and for the Silver Arch determined by the audience's vote.

The Platinum Arch of the Special Encounters section was presented to Francesca Comencini during the evening of Saturday, July 26th. The following day, in line with the festival's custom of closing with a restored masterpiece, Bread, Love and Dreams (Pane, amore e fantasia) by Luigi Comencini, the father of the awarded director, was screened.

Among the most popular events was the concert by the third-year orchestra of the A. Manzoni middle school, scheduled for Sunday, July 27th, at the end of the awards ceremony. In the documentary section, the award went to È giunta l'ora, directed by Nicola Tella, Salvatore De Santis, and Leandro Barichello.
