An afternoon among museums, memory, and crafts in the village of Loro Piceno
In the small Municipality of Loro Piceno, in the province of Macerata, the Environment Days take visitors on a walking tour through the village streets, rediscovering the memory and crafts that have shaped its history. The event, titled "Memory and Crafts of the Village", is the Loro Piceno stop of a widespread review involving three towns in the Fiastra Valley: Ripe San Ginesio, Colmurano, and Loro Piceno.
The route intertwines cultural heritage and local identity. It starts from the Space for Future Traditions, the new cultural hub located in the former Museum of Cooked Wine, within the evocative Cloister of San Francesco. From here, the guided tour crosses the historic center to reach the symbolic places of the town.
The review is part of the "Qui Val di Fiastra" project, winner of the PNRR Borghi Call, which with an investment of over four million euros aims to regenerate the historic centers and communities of the valley. The coordination is entrusted to Inabita Laboratorio Territoriale, while the organization of the days is by Meridiana snc, in collaboration with the Museum Network of the Fiastra Valley and the Municipalities of Loro Piceno, Colmurano, and Ripe San Ginesio.
The Environment Days are designed for families, curious individuals, and history and landscape enthusiasts. Admission is completely free, and the experience, accompanied by local guides, allows visitors to experience the village of Loro Piceno in a slow and conscious way, rediscovering the link between environment, memory, and crafts of the inner Marche region.
On Saturday, May 9, 2026, Loro Piceno hosted the final stop of the first Environment Days of the Fiastra Valley, following the events in Ripe San Ginesio (April 26) and Colmurano (May 3).
From 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, participants followed a free guided itinerary through the village streets, with visits to the Museum of the World Wars and the kitchens of Brunforte Castle, concluding at the Space for Future Traditions, dedicated to the artisanal knowledge of the area.
