The 24th edition of the Vittorini Prize
In September 2025, Syracuse hosted the 24th edition of the Elio Vittorini National Literary Prize, with the customary Vittorini Week featuring meetings, music, and literary debates. The prize was awarded to Giuseppe Catozzella for Il fiore delle illusioni (Feltrinelli).
The finalists
The three finalists were Il fiore delle illusioni by Giuseppe Catozzella (Feltrinelli), Di spalle a questo mondo by Wanda Marasco (Neri Pozza), and Perduto è questo mare by Elisabetta Rasy (Rizzoli). The winner received 3,000 euros, while the two runners-up received 1,000 euros each. The festival was accompanied by the 6th edition of the Arnaldo Lombardi Independent Publishing Prize.
