Effetto Notte 2025: Thrills under the stars

From July 19 to 27, 2025, the archaeological arena of Santa Croce in Gerusalemme hosted the edition dedicated to the master of thrills Dario Argento, celebrated for his fifty-five-year career. Titles presented by the Cineteca Nazionale included «The Cat o' Nine Tails», «Four Flies on Grey Velvet», «Tenebrae», «Phenomena», and «Dark Glasses», alongside works that influenced his imagination or inherited his legacy: «Blood and Black Lace» by Mario Bava, «Once Upon a Time in the West» by Sergio Leone, and «Vortex» by Gaspar Noé.

In 2025, screenings were free of charge subject to availability, with free guided tours of the archaeological site before the evening events. The festival was promoted by the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia - Cineteca Nazionale with the support of the Ministry of Culture's Directorate General for Cinema and Audiovisual.
