Education Festival "In the Footsteps of Pino Pennisi"

2025 Edition: "The future is already here"

The eighth edition of the Education Festival was held in Syracuse from November 16 to 24, 2025, with the motto "The future is already here: voices, dreams, and roots of education". This year's theme focused on the right of the youngest to be heard and the right to peace.

Promoted by the municipal administration through the Syracuse Educational City project, coordinated by Rossana Geraci, and supported by the Department of Social and Youth Policies led by Marco Zappulla, the edition involved the network of 76 associations and local entities belonging to the "Friends of the Educational City".

The heart of the event was the XVI March for the Rights of Children and Adolescents, which took place on November 20th, starting at 9:30 AM from the Villini of Corso Umberto I and ending at the Foro Vittorio Emanuele II, on the Marina, where the "Village of Rights" came to life with thematic stations curated by high school students. The event, dedicated to the memory of Pino Pennisi and remembered by his wife Carmen Castelluccio, was sponsored by Unicef Italy and Unicef Syracuse.
