Donkey Palio

2025 Edition

The 68th edition of the Donkey Palio enlivened Torrita di Siena, in the Valdichiana Senese, from March 15 to 23, 2025. The festival began on Saturday, March 15, with the drawing of the district pairings and the presentation of the palio, continuing with children's activities at the Parco della Rimembranza, playful quizzes, the blessing of the jockeys' jerseys during the Saint Joseph Mass, and propitiatory dinners in the districts.

The donkey race took place on Sunday, March 23, at 4:00 PM on the tufa track of the Gioco del Pallone. The Contrada Cavone won, with jockey Jonathan Guerri, known as Rafia, and the donkey Peppo: for the white-and-green district, it was the sixth success in the history of the event.
