Edition 2025 — Donazione della Santa Spina

In August 2025, Montone renewed the Donazione della Santa Spina, a reenactment of the relic's donation by Carlo Fortebracci. For a week, the medieval village experienced costume parades, theatrical performances, and archery competitions, with the three districts Porta del Borgo, Monte, and Verziere vying for the Palio della Santa Spina.

The 2025 edition of the Donazione della Santa Spina confirmed the event's role as one of Umbria's most cherished historical reenactments. In Montone, province of Perugia, the three districts competed with "theatrical twists" and arrows for the Palio, while the village immersed itself in a medieval atmosphere of parades, costumes, and the election of the Castellana.

The festival, established in 1961 by the Pro Loco Montonese, once again celebrated the legacy of Braccio da Montone and the gift of his son Carlo Fortebracci: a thorn from Christ's crown, kept and venerated by the community. An event that every August draws enthusiasts and visitors to one of Italy's Most Beautiful Villages.
