Diwali 2025 in Rome

On October 26, 2025, the Auditorium del Massimo in EUR hosted the Roman celebration of the Festival of Lights organized by the Italian Hindu Union. The day alternated between ritual moments and performances: pujas dedicated to Ganesha and the goddess Lakshmi, devotional singing, and classical Indian music concerts featuring the sarangi and tabla, including performances curated by musical director Supriyo Dutta with Sangheet Mishra on sarangi and Sanjay Kansa Banik on tabla.

There was ample space for dance, with Bharatanatyam by the Punyah Dance Company, traditional dancers from Kerala, and the BollywoOpera proposal by Gioconda Vessichelli. For the public, workshops on yoga, Indian dance, Ayurveda, kolam, and mehndi were active throughout the day, in addition to the Indian catering service. The event also had a charitable purpose, with the distribution of products from the RomAIL association, active since 1984 in leukemia research and patient support.
