Dissidanza 2025: the fifth edition
The fifth edition of the Dissidanza International Festival was held on November 21 and 22, 2025, at the Spazio Franco of the Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa in Palermo. Directed by Giovanni Zappulla for the Centro Coreografico L'espace, the festival confirmed its multidisciplinary vocation, weaving together contemporary dance, theater, visual arts, and experimental performance languages.
The central theme of the 2025 edition was the relationship between human beings, nature, and the environment, explored through the body and its psychic dimension. The festival, also supported by the Institut français Palermo, reaffirmed its goal of creating a network between performing arts entities in the Mediterranean and European areas, bringing international companies to Palermo and positioning Sicily as a hub for avant-garde contemporary dance.
