Four days of Middle Ages in Guarcino

The 2025 edition of the Disfida del Malpensa was held from August 22 to 25 in the historic center of Guarcino, in the province of Frosinone, with a program extended to four days. The main novelty was the establishment of the Medieval Games between the historic districts, with the dispute of the Palio concentrated in the first two days.

For three days, the alleys of the village hosted medieval markets with artisans and vendors specializing in clothing, weapons, and leather, while masters of ancient crafts showcased rare arts. Falconers, archers, and Templars enlivened the streets along with theatrical figures such as preaching friars and executioners.

On the afternoons of the 24th and 25th, a real medieval camp was set up for the scenic re-enactment of the Disfida, with the clash between the two armies and the victorious duel of Malpensa. On the 25th, late in the evening, the celebrations in honor of the hero of Guarcino concluded with street dinners in the alleys of the historic center, organized in collaboration with local restaurateurs, as part of the Guarcino Summer.
