Diomedea Marathon

The 2025 Diomedea Marathon, the second edition since its revival, was held on May 1st, 2025, in Vasto, in the province of Chieti, starting from Piazza Rossetti shortly after 9:00 AM. About 700 participants took part in the event, divided between the 9.2 km competitive race, the non-competitive event, the children's race, and trials reserved for younger kids.

In the women's race, Melissa Palanza (Let's Run for Solidarity) won with a time of 36'29", ahead of Monica Foglia (Gp Montorio) and Loretta Cianflocca (Podisti Frentani). The city's sports councilor described the Diomedea as "a fixed and anticipated appointment on the city's sports calendar," capable of involving athletes, families, and volunteers.
