2025 Diocesan Missionary Vigil

The vigil took place on Thursday, October 16, 2025, in the parish basilica of San Pancrazio, on the Janiculum Hill, starting with Holy Mass at 7:00 PM, followed at 7:30 PM by the prayer vigil. Presiding was Cardinal Vicar Baldassare (Baldo) Reina, during the Missionary October journey that preceded World Mission Day on Sunday, October 19, 2025.

The theme of the edition, «Missionaries of hope among the nations», guided an evening punctuated by prayer, song, and testimonies from those living the missionary experience firsthand. The most intense moment was, as is tradition, the presentation of the cross and the commissioning of the priests, religious, and laypeople departing for the missio ad gentes. The celebration was broadcast live on Tv2000.

Thursday, October 16, 2025 — Basilica of San Pancrazio, Janiculum Hill

• 7:00 PM — Holy Mass
• 7:30 PM — Diocesan Missionary Vigil, presided over by Cardinal Vicar Baldo Reina

• Antonella Bertolotti, doctor working with Intermed Onlus in conflict zones

At the end, presentation of the cross and missionary commissioning for laypeople and religious departing for the missio ad gentes. Live television broadcast on Tv2000.
