Edition 2025 — Dining with Messer Giovanni

In 2025, "Dining with Messer Giovanni" once again brought the grand medieval banquet to Via Boccaccio in Certaldo Alto, featuring the customary torchlit table, a historical menu served on earthenware plates with wooden cutlery, costumed characters, and roving performances culminating in fireworks over the Palazzo Pretorio. A June appointment that draws hundreds of diners to Boccaccio's village every year.

The 2025 edition confirmed the formula that made the Certaldo Alto event famous: a single, very long table set along Via Boccaccio, in the heart of the medieval village in the province of Florence, illuminated exclusively by torches.

Guests relived a 15th-century banquet, with a medieval menu based on historical research by the Elitropia Association, served on earthenware plates with wooden cutlery by dozens of costumed characters. Between courses, stilt-walkers, jugglers, and fire-eaters enlivened the evening, which concluded with the traditional fireworks display against the backdrop of the Palazzo Pretorio.
