Edition 2025 — Bovino Dialect Poetry

The 49th edition of the Dialect Poetry Competition was held in Bovino on August 27, 2025. As per tradition, the Pro Loco Bovino UNPLI published the regulations in the summer and collected vernacular compositions, which were awarded during a public evening in the historic center. The event opened the week of the Agosto Bovinese, which culminated on August 29 with the Historical Cavalcade.

On August 27, 2025, Bovino hosted the 49th edition of its historic Dialect Poetry Competition, organized by the Pro Loco Bovino UNPLI. The regulations, published in August, confirmed the award's mission: to promote the Bovinese dialect and the idioms of the Monti Dauni as intangible heritage.

The award ceremony took place in the village's historic center, in the province of Foggia, featuring public readings of the compositions selected by the jury. The event effectively inaugurated the most intense part of the Agosto Bovinese, the summer program that, two days later on August 29, saw the Historical Cavalcade parade through the streets of one of Italy's most beautiful villages.
