Independent culture ignites the flatlands

Desfemo Fest is the independent culture festival that animates Boara Pisani, a municipality in the Padovano area bordering the province of Rovigo, along the Adige River. Born from the energy of a community of enthusiasts, for its fourth edition it doubles: "from this year we multiply by two," announce the organizers, with more space and more programming days.

Music, comics, sports, and words

The heart of the festival is music: 29 artists selected from the best of the Italian underground emo and alternative scene will alternate on the stage of Piazza Athesia. Around the concerts, the festival builds a multidisciplinary experience: an artist alley with 15 comic artists, an exhibition paying tribute to the film "Le città di pianura" with readings by Pierpaolo Capovilla, a craft and vintage market, a sports area with a skate ramp, parkour, and a running zone, a 150-seat conference room with guests and debates, as well as workshops and labs for all ages.

A community-focused festival

Flavors and conviviality complete the celebration, with various food and drink stands. Entry is free but supported by a voluntary donation: "it's increasingly difficult to keep all this free, but we want to continue doing it," explain the organizers, who are part of the Rovigo Resiste network with Oj Eventi. An event that showcases the vitality of the independent scene in the heart of the Veneto flatlands.
