Descent and Ascent of the Madonna del Roseto

Tradition in 2025

The 2025 cycle of the Madonna del Roseto followed, as every year since 1844, the dates set by tradition: the Descent on the first Monday of June and the Ascent on the first Monday of September. In between, the three months of the wooden statue's stay in the Church of the Santissimo Corpo di Cristo, in the center of Solopaca, and the celebrations on the first Sunday of August.

As usual, the June procession departed from the sanctuary on Monte delle Rose, at an altitude of 608 meters, after the morning Eucharistic celebrations, then crossed the streets of the Sannio village in a journey of several hours accompanied by devotional hymns. In September, the same route was repeated in ascent, returning the image to its usual seat, a destination for pilgrimages throughout the rest of the year.

The 2025 edition confirmed the vitality of a devotion that involves the entire community of Solopaca, in the province of Benevento, and attracts faithful from the neighboring municipalities of the Valle Telesina and the Taburno-Camposauro area, in Campania.
