Désarpa della Valpelline

Between late September and early October 2025, the Désarpa della Valpelline renewed the traditional festival of the herds' return from the pastures. The herds, descending from the high-altitude grazing lands, crossed the municipal territory to the sound of cowbells to the village stables, welcomed by the residents in a festive atmosphere with convivial moments and tastings of typical products. The Désarpa confirmed its value as a living tradition of the Aosta Valley mountains, an expression of a farming culture that still dictates the rhythm of the seasons in the side valley of the Grand Saint Bernard.
