Edition 2025 — Der traditionelle Huangort

The 2025 edition of the traditional Huangort took place on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Castel Tirolo, starting at 2:00 PM with free admission. The South Tyrolean folk music festival brought the fortress above Merano to life with singing, instrumental music, folk dancing, and poetry in the Tyrolean dialect, in an afternoon dedicated to conviviality and the alpine traditions of South Tyrol.

The Der traditionelle Huangort 2025 was held on Sunday, May 25, 2025, from 2:00 PM at Castel Tirolo, in the municipality of Tirolo (BZ), with free admission. As per tradition, the event featured folk singing, instrumental music, traditional dancing (Volkstanz), and poetry in dialect (Mundartgedichte), with various folk music groups stationed throughout the courtyards and rooms of the castle. Organized by the Historical-Cultural Museum of Castel Tirolo, the event revived the convivial spirit of the "Huangort," the informal gathering where people meet to play, sing, and chat together, in the heart of South Tyrolean folk culture.
