Edition 2025 — Dead Christ Procession

In 2025, the Dead Christ Procession took place on Good Friday, April 18, confirming its vocation as the oldest rite in Civitavecchia. The Arciconfraternita del Gonfalone led the parade with the processional floats, the hooded penitents, and the city's brotherhoods along the streets of the center, starting from the Chiesa della Stella.

2025 Edition

The 2025 Dead Christ Procession took place on Good Friday, April 18, 2025, in the center of Civitavecchia. As per centuries-old tradition, the Arciconfraternita del Gonfalone organized the parade with the processional floats dedicated to the Passion, the barefoot hooded penitents, and the brotherhoods, in an evening of strong popular participation that involved the entire city and the towns of the Lazio coast. In 2025, the parade also started from the Chiesa della Stella to cross the streets and squares of the center until returning to piazza Leandra, renewing a rite of faith that has been passed down in Civitavecchia for over a thousand years.
