Edition 2025 — Darkest Dreaming

The first edition of the Darkest Dreaming Film Festival took place in Syracuse from September 1st to December 31st, 2025, curated by Cinedrome ETS with artistic direction by Giuseppe Briffa. There were four monthly sections: Dark Mode On (September), Cine Oktober Fest in its fifth edition (October), Noirvember (November), and Silent Nights (December). Films screened in 4K included Ridley Scott's Blade Runner, Hitchcock's Rope and Rear Window, and David Lynch's Blue Velvet.

Darkest Dreaming Film Festival 2025

The inaugural edition under the Darkest Dreaming Film Festival umbrella animated Syracuse from September to December 2025, with the patronage of the Municipality of Syracuse. The festival, curated by Cinedrome ETS and directed by Giuseppe Briffa, was divided into the four monthly sections: Dark Mode On, Cine Oktober Fest (5th edition), Noirvember, and Silent Nights.

Among the highlights, the Noirvember section featured Ridley Scott's Blade Runner (Director's Cut 4K) at the Hmora Pub in November, Alfred Hitchcock's Rope and Rear Window in 4K Technicolor, and David Lynch's Blue Velvet, in addition to a film analysis workshop and a family screening dedicated to Toy Story. Activities took place at the Urban Center, Antico Mercato, Biblios Cafè, Hmora Pub, Sonica, Il Cerchio, Made Program, and the Ex Convento del Ritiro, all with free admission.

Programme

September: Dark Mode On (dreamscapes in cinema). October: Cine Oktober Fest, 5th edition. November: Noirvember - Blade Runner (Ridley Scott), Rope and Rear Window (Hitchcock), Blue Velvet (David Lynch), "Eyes Wide Open" workshop. December: Silent Nights, silent cinema masterpieces with live music.

Blade Runner in 4K, Hitchcock retrospective in Technicolor, David Lynch's Blue Velvet, silent cinema with live accompaniment.
