Edition 2025 — Custodi di Memoria

The second edition of Custodi di Memoria took place on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at 7:00 PM, in Piazza Cristo Re in Fontanarosa. The evening centered on the screening of an original video by Francesca Petroccione, featuring testimonies from the town's historic artisans: a choral story about straw weaving, stone carving, and the art of the nativity scene, bridging family memory and community identity.

The second edition

On Sunday, July 27, 2025, at 7:00 PM, Piazza Cristo Re in Fontanarosa served as the stage for the second edition of Custodi di Memoria, the workshop that gives a voice to the historic artisans of this Irpinian town. The central theme chosen for 2025 was the deep bond between traditional local craftsmanship and the construction of a community's identity.

The screening

The highlight was the preview of an original video created by Francesca Petroccione, built on the direct testimonies of six master artisans: Antonio Flammia, Antonio Prizio, Luigi De Simone, Lucia Inglese, Maria Gambino, and Silvia Loro. Their words highlighted the three crafts that identify Fontanarosa — straw, stone, and nativity scenes — told not as simple techniques, but as an artistic and cultural heritage around which concepts of identity and belonging have been strengthened.

The context

The event was part of the Irpinia Resiliente project, funded by the European Union — NextGenerationEU, the Agency for Territorial Cohesion, and the Department for Cohesion Policies, and was carried out by the Consorzio di Cooperative Sociali Percorsi with the social cooperatives Oasirpina and La Girella, the Pro Loco "La Fonte," and the Comitato Festa.
