Edition 2025 — Cugnoli Living Nativity

The seventh edition of the Cugnoli Living Nativity took place on Saturday, December 20, 2025, starting at 5:00 PM, along the route of the Transhumance Cycle Paths in the village's historic center. Over 150 costumed performers brought the Nativity re-enactment to life through the alleys, accompanied by the Christmas melodies of the bagpipes. Taverns set up along the route offered mulled wine, roasted chestnuts, sweets, and typical specialties. The event was organized by the Sotto le Mura Cultural Association with the patronage of the Municipality of Cugnoli, as part of the "Christmas in the Village" program.

Cugnoli Living Nativity 2025 — seventh edition

On Saturday, December 20, 2025, starting at 5:00 PM, the historic center of Cugnoli (province of Pescara) hosted the seventh edition of the Living Nativity. The performance wound along the route of the Transhumance Cycle Paths, through the alleys and squares of the village.

Over 150 performers in period costumes took part in the Nativity re-enactment, including the Holy Family, shepherds, the Three Wise Men, and ancient tradespeople. The journey was accompanied by bagpipes, while the village taverns offered hot drinks, mulled wine, roasted chestnuts, sweets, and typical Abruzzo products. The initiative, organized by the Sotto le Mura Cultural Association with the patronage of the Municipality of Cugnoli, was part of the "Christmas in the Village" program, confirming itself as one of the most attended events in the area.

Programme

Gathering from 5:00 PM in the historic center of Cugnoli. Walking route along the Transhumance Cycle Paths with scenes of the Nativity (arrival in Bethlehem, search for lodging, the Three Wise Men and Herod, the announcement to the shepherds, the hut). Musical accompaniment by bagpipes. Taverns with mulled wine, roasted chestnuts, sweets, and typical products along the route.
