Cuccia Festival 2025

The 2025 edition confirmed the age-old rituals of the Arbëreshë community of Palazzo Adriano. On the night before the first Sunday of August, participants reached the summit of the Montagna delle Rose (1,454 m) and, at dawn, facing east toward their ancient Albanian homeland, sang the nostalgic song 'O e bukura Morè'.

In the evening, in Piazza Umberto I, the blessing and distribution of the cuccia—boiled wheat with fava beans, chickpeas, and cooked wine—was renewed, accompanied by tastings of local products. The festival was part of the Most Holy Crucifix celebrations, animated by Greek-Byzantine liturgies, music, and folklore in the village in the Province of Palermo.
