Edition 2025 — Crossbow Palio

The 2025 edition of the Crossbow Palio took place as tradition dictates on the last Sunday of May in Piazza Grande, featuring the historical procession in Renaissance costume, flag-wavers, and the crossbow shooting challenge between the companies of Gubbio and Sansepolcro in front of the Palazzo dei Consoli.

In 2025, the Crossbow Palio once again drew enthusiasts and visitors to Gubbio to witness the ancient Italian crossbow competition. The day followed the established ritual: the reading of the Challenge Proclamation in the morning, the historical procession in the afternoon, and the shooting competition between the rival cities of Gubbio and Sansepolcro before the crowd gathered in Piazza Grande.

The event, organized by the Società Balestrieri di Gubbio, reaffirmed the strong bond between the Gubbio community and its medieval and Renaissance roots.
