Tonino Maurizi's solo exhibition at Gallerie Sangallo in Tolentino
In the heart of Tolentino, in Piazza della Libertà, the Gallerie Sangallo host Cronofanie, the solo exhibition dedicated to Tonino Maurizi, one of the most recognizable painters and sculptors in the Macerata art scene. The exhibition, promoted by the Municipality of Tolentino, features a selection of works that recount the artist's long and coherent research, capable of transforming color, gesture, and form into a personal and immediately recognizable language.
The title itself, Cronofanie, suggests the appearance of time: not time measured by the clock, but time as lived experience, as sedimented memory, and as continuous transformation. Maurizi's canvases and sculptures thus become thresholds through which to observe the passage of years, the relationship between origin and rebirth, between what remains and what changes. The curation by Alvaro Valentini and Francesca Maurizi guides the visitor along a path that intertwines abstract compositions, landscapes, and sculptural works.
Originally from Montecosaro, in the province of Macerata, Tonino Maurizi has, over the decades, built a career that has led him to exhibit far beyond the borders of the Marche region, with international recognition and works that have traveled to important exhibition venues. Cronofanie brings his work back to the territory where his roots lie, offering the people of the Marche the opportunity to retrace his poetics in a symbolic place like the Gallerie Sangallo.
The exhibition is part of Tolentino's vibrant cultural season. The city, in the province of Macerata, has always been attentive to contemporary art and its expressions. Admission is free, and the exhibition has also included special openings for the Notte dei Musei (Museum Night), confirming itself as an accessible event open to everyone, from art enthusiasts to curious visitors in the historic center.
