Food and craft excellences on Carnival Sundays in Crema
While the allegorical floats parade in the square, the historic center of Crema comes alive with the Crema Carnival Markets: on the three Sundays of Carnival, the city's streets and squares are filled with stalls offering the best of food and wine, crafts, and popular traditions. It's the delicious and colorful accompaniment to the Gran Carnevale Cremasco, in the province of Cremona.
The markets extend between Piazza Duomo, Via Manzoni, and Piazza Madeo, with over a hundred exhibitors alternating over the three Sundays. Alongside local products, you'll find specialties from all over Italy — Lombardy, Piedmont, Liguria, Tuscany, Sicily, Puglia, and other regions — in a journey that invites you to discover flavors and crafts from every origin.
Among the stalls, local specialties are a must: the sweet tortelli cremaschi, Salva cheese, salame cremasco, spongarda cake, and mostarda. These are joined by creative craft items, natural wellness products, and books, offering a range that goes far beyond just taste.
Promoted in collaboration with the Carnevale Cremasco and the Pro Loco of Crema, with the patronage of the Municipality and the Province of Cremona, the markets have free admission. With a refreshment area open from morning to evening, they are the ideal opportunity to experience the Crema carnival through its cuisine, between one parade and another.
The 26th edition of the Crema Carnival Markets accompanies the carnival parades in Crema on Sundays February 8, 15, and 22, 2026. Over a hundred exhibitors (about 70 rotating for each Sunday) are set up between Piazza Duomo, Via Manzoni, and Piazza Madeo, featuring food and wine excellences — sweet tortelli cremaschi, Salva cheese, salame cremasco, spongarda cake, mostarda — and products from all over Italy, as well as creative crafts, natural wellness products, and books. The refreshment area is open from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Free admission.
