Crayfish and Trout Festival

The 66th edition (2025)

From August 13 to 16, 2025, Popoli Terme hosted the 66th edition of the Crayfish and Trout Festival in Piazza della Libertà, organized by Pro Loco Popoli. At the center of the event were the two typical products of the Pescara waters, river crayfish and trout, prepared both according to tradition and in more contemporary versions, accompanied by local wines and craft beers.

The program alternated between gastronomy and entertainment: evening markets along Corso Gramsci on August 13 and 15, the 'White Night - Play with the Stars' initiative on August 14 in the town center with games and stalls, the children's show 'Children's Planet', and, on August 15 in Piazza Paolini, the concert by Mogol and Gianmarco Carroccia, a journey through the timeless hits of Lucio Battisti. The event confirmed the community's strong bond with the river and a culinary tradition unique in Abruzzo.
