Corteo Storico e Palio del Carro di Monteleone d'Orvieto

The 2025 edition of the Historical Procession and Palio del Carro confirmed the Ferragosto ritual of Monteleone d'Orvieto. In the days leading up to August 16th, the throwing down of the gauntlet took place in Piazza Bilancini between the Noble House of the Counts of Montemarte and the Counts of Marsciano; the village then experienced its main day with the costumed historical procession and the Cart Race.

The parade, with over four hundred participants, brought to life the centuries-old rivalries and traditions of the medieval castle, in a festive atmosphere that draws inhabitants and visitors alike each year to this corner of the Orvieto area, in the province of Terni.
