Corsa delle Bighe

The 2025 edition of the Corsa delle Bighe unfolded from August 31 to September 8, with the usual sequence of events preceding the race: open cellars, religious events, and moments of celebration in the districts of Borgo and Piazza. The main challenge took place on September 8th, the patronal feast of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, with chariots pulled by the men of the two districts along the streets of the historic center of Scheggia, in the Monte Cucco Park.

The main race between the Borgo and Piazza districts took place on September 8th, preceded in the preceding days by open cellars, religious events, and shows. In the morning, the drummers, the charioteers' breakfast, and Holy Mass; in the afternoon, the chariot race and the award ceremony for the winning district.
