Corpus Domini — Procession with sand, flower, and crochet carpets

The 2025 edition of Corpus Domini in Atessa confirmed the vitality of a tradition deeply rooted in the Val di Sangro village. As every year, the solemnity was celebrated in the Cathedral of San Leucio and continued with a procession along the streets of the historic center, covered by the characteristic sand, flower, and crochet carpets. The confraternities and parish associations oversaw the creation of the decorations, the result of days of artisanal work and shared devotion. The evening procession, with the passage of the Monstrance over the decorated carpets, represented one of the most evocative religious moments of the year for the Atessa community.
