Edition 2025 — Corpus Christi in Rome

The 2025 edition of Corpus Christi in Rome made history: on Sunday, June 22, Pope Leo XIV celebrated Holy Mass on the parvis of the Archbasilica of Saint John Lateran and then personally led the Eucharistic procession on foot along Via Merulana to the Basilica of Saint Mary Major.

Corpus Christi 2025 with Pope Leo XIV

On Sunday, June 22, 2025, the Corpus Christi Procession in Rome took on an exceptional character. Pope Leo XIV presided over the Eucharistic Liturgy on the parvis of the Archbasilica of Saint John Lateran, delivering a homily that opened with the words "It is good to be with Jesus."

At the end of Mass, the Pontiff personally led the procession, carrying the monstrance with the Most Holy Sacrament along Via Merulana to the Basilica of Saint Mary Major, where he imparted the Eucharistic blessing. A gesture of great symbolic value, which drew thousands of the faithful to the heart of Rome for one of the most solemn public testimonies of the Eucharistic faith.
