Contrari Sword Fight

The XXXIII edition of the Contrari Sword Fight was held on September 20 and 21, 2025, in the Medieval Village of Savignano sul Panaro (Modena).

On Saturday, September 20, the festival opened at 6:00 PM with the inauguration, followed by the historic inns, the bell ringers' concert, the Ars Mercatorum medieval market, the parade with flag-wavers, and the raising of the banner; in the evening, the log-sawing game and the fire show "Dracarys". Sunday, September 21, featured the parade and the Dagger Fight (children's games) in the morning with the winner's proclamation, and in the afternoon, the ceremony of the fief donation followed by the grand Contrari Sword Fight among the six districts, with the closing and lowering of the banner. Booking for the evening and afternoon games was done via Eventbrite.
