Edition 2025 — Scurcola Medieval Historical Pageant

In the summer of 2025, Scurcola Marsicana renewed its appointment with its medieval history. The Marsican village offered re-enactments linked to the figure of Charles I of Anjou and the Battle of the Piani Palentini, with costumed participants, processions, and cultural initiatives that brought the historic center to life in August.

The 2025 Medieval Historical Pageant

In 2025, Scurcola Marsicana confirmed its vocation as a village guarding the Angevin memory. The historical re-enactments linked to the "Contrade & Borghi" Medieval Historical Pageant brought the 13th-century atmosphere back to life in the streets of the historic center, with costumed participants, flag-wavers, musicians, and knights.

The parades were accompanied by local initiatives dedicated to the Middle Ages, including arts, crafts, and culinary events in the village, which guided residents and visitors in discovering Marsican traditions. The event continued to keep the memory of the 1268 Battle of the Piani Palentini alive, under the guidance of the Centro Studi Culturali Carlo I d'Angiò.
