Edition 2025 — Contesa dello Stivale

The 46th edition of the Contesa dello Stivale took place in Filottrano from July 31 to August 3, 2025. Four days of historical reenactment with medieval taverns, games between contrade, archery competitions, flag-wavers, and drummers, concluding on Sunday with the historical parade, the Contesa, and the burning of the Boot. Despite bad weather, the event proceeded as planned, and the San Biagio contrada emerged victorious.

The 2025 edition of the Contesa dello Stivale, the 46th, animated the historic center of Filottrano (AN) from Thursday, July 31 to Sunday, August 3.

On Thursday, the taverns opened in Piazza Mazzini, with a popular dinner and medieval games; on Friday, the challenges between contrade continued with the investiture of the Captain of the People; on Saturday, there was space for the encampment of armed groups, archery demonstrations, and competitions for the younger participants, amidst performances by flag-wavers and dance groups.

On Sunday, the grand historical parade preceded the Contesa in Piazza Cavour: despite the rain, which required a redefinition of the rules, the competition took place, and the San Biagio contrada won the Boot, setting the effigy ablaze as tradition dictates.
