The Painting Competition City of Romano di Lombardia

Organized by the Circolo di Ricreazione Artistica Il Romanino in collaboration with the Municipality of Romano di Lombardia, in the province of Bergamo, the Contemporary Painting Competition is one of the city's longest-running cultural events. Now in its seventeenth edition in 2026, it invites artists and enthusiasts to engage with contemporary painting around a theme proposed each year.

From registration to exhibition

The competition is divided into several phases: registration and submission of works, selection by a jury, exhibition of the chosen works, and finally the awards ceremony. The selected works are displayed in the spaces of the Circolo Il Romanino, at Via G.B. Mottini 14, and in city locations, offering the public a widespread exhibition that showcases the artistic research of the area.

A city artistic tradition

The Circolo Il Romanino is named after the great Renaissance painter Girolamo Romani, known as Il Romanino, a figure linked to the Bergamo and Brescia region. The competition ideally carries on his legacy, promoting contemporary art and offering artists a recognized showcase. The final awards ceremony, open to citizens and visitors, is the highlight of the event.
