2025 Edition — the first
The inaugural edition of the festival, directed by Carlo Greppi, transformed Empoli's squares into spaces for historical outreach with a forty-eight-hour programme. Friday, September 12th, opened with historian Alessandro Vanoli; Saturday the 13th was a day dedicated to nation, revolution, dictatorship, colonialism, and persecution, with Alberto Mario Banti, Bruno Settis, Giulia Albanese, Uoldelul Chelati Dirar, and Anna Foa; Sunday the 14th focused on the end of the World War, the Republic, and coming to terms with the past, with Isabella Insolvibile, Miguel Gotor, and Benedetta Tobagi.
Guests also included Giovanni De Luna. The public success of the first edition laid the foundations for the festival's return in 2026.
