Comeliano Carnival

The 2025 edition of the Comeliano Carnival confirmed the vitality of one of the most fascinating traditions of the Belluno Dolomites. In the hamlets of Comelico Superiore, lachè, matazin, and wooden masks paraded through the villages to the rhythm of polka played on accordion, double bass, guitars, and violin.

In Dosoledo, the maskarada took place as every year on the Sunday closest to February 9th, the day of Sant'Apollonia, with the grand parade in the square, while the other hamlets offered their own festive moments, culminating in the final dances in the Regola hall.

The 2025 edition was structured, in the various hamlets, with processions of lachè and matazin from house to house, traditional dances to the rhythm of polka, and festive moments in the Regola halls; in Dosoledo, the maskarada on the Sunday closest to Sant'Apollonia (February 9th) was the main event.
