Edition 2025 — INDA Syracuse Season
60th INDA Season 2025
From May 9 to July 6, 2025, the Greek Theatre of Syracuse hosted the 60th Season of Classical Performances, a celebratory edition for the INDA Foundation.
The programme brought together four productions: Oedipus at Colonus by Sophocles directed by Robert Carsen; Electra by Sophocles directed by Roberto Andò and starring Sonia Bergamasco; Lysistrata by Aristophanes directed by Serena Sinigaglia with Lella Costa; and a new creation inspired by the Iliad, directed by Giuliano Peparini with Vinicio Marchioni.
The 2025 season, thanks in part to an NRRP project, strengthened the accessibility of the cavea and introduced the possibility of following performances in Italian Sign Language (LIS), confirming Syracuse and Sicily as the capital of ancient theatre.
