Edition 2025 — Opera Festival Matera
In 2025, the Città dei Sassi Opera Festival brought its opera season to Matera, confirming the formula that intertwines opera, ballet, and the promotion of young performers, in anticipation of the 18th edition in 2026.
In 2025, the Città dei Sassi Opera Festival also enlivened Matera's spaces with its opera and ballet season, remaining true to its mission of bringing opera closer to the general public in unconventional settings.
The event, organized by Lucania Arte Teatro Aps with artistic direction by Marilena Laurenza, reaffirmed its focus on young vocal talents from the Mezzogiorno, laying the groundwork for the eighteenth edition in 2026.
