Città di Velluto

The 2025 edition of Città di Velluto (July 4-6) was dedicated to the theme of the Grand Tour, evoking the journey that young European aristocrats of the 18th century undertook to discover the Italian peninsula. Ala's historic center came alive with the comedy of Loris Fabiani, the moving poetry of the Kataklò Athletic Dance Theatre company, the music of I Virtuosi Italiani, and street artists who recounted the city's Baroque history.

Visitors were able to enter historic palaces, admire the rooms of the future Textile Museum, visit the Antique Piano Museum, and participate in tours animated by velvet weavers in period costumes starting from Piazza San Giovanni. The program also included the escape room 'The Witch and the Inquisitor' and, on Sunday, family-oriented interactive workshops and theatrical adventures through the city streets. The journey through local flavors was also a highlight, featuring traditional dishes, classic desserts (including gluten-free options), and wines from Ala and Vallagarina wineries.
