4th edition 2025 — Love
The fourth edition of the "Città di Ceglie Messapica" National Literary Award was dedicated to the theme of Love, explored in all its forms, from family ties and friendship to affection in the digital age. The edition recorded record numbers, with thirty of the most important publishing houses in the sector involved.
The winner
The winner of the award was Antonio Galetta with the novel Pietà (Einaudi), chosen by the technical jury for its expressive power, quality of writing, and thematic depth. The winner received a cash prize of 6,000 euros.
The five finalists
The list of finalists included Heartbreak Hotel by Micol Beltramini and Agnese Innocente (Il Castoro), Viva il lupo by Angelo Carotenuto (Sellerio), Figlia del temporale by Valentina D'Urbano (Mondadori), and Ogni cosa è per Giulia by Lucia Tancredi (Ponte alle Grazie). The jury, chaired by artistic director Maria Antonietta Epifani, included Debora de Fazio, Antonio Farì, Carlo Greppi, and Graziano Gala. The ceremony was held in the historic center of Ceglie Messapica.
