Cinema In Verde 2025: "Tales from the Changing Planet"

The third edition of the festival was held from September 18 to 21, 2025, at the Rome Botanical Garden, among the gardens and centuries-old trees of the event's historic venue. The chosen title, "Tales from the Changing Planet," invited the public to immerse themselves in alternative futures, courageous visions, and transformative actions through the language of cinema.

Program and award

The lineup brought together six films in competition, four retrospective titles, three workshops, and two thematic meetings, all with free admission. The 2025 Golden Ginkgo was awarded to Mariposas Negras by David Baute, a 2D animation following three women forced to migrate to survive climate change, across the Caribbean, Kenya, and India. The jury was led by actor and director Alessandro Preziosi.

A growing audience

The edition exceeded 3,500 participants, with about half the audience under 40: a result that prompted the organization to seek larger venues in the Municipality of Rome for 2026.
