The inauguration of the room

On December 11, 2025, the MACRO — Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome opened its cinema room to the public with the first edition of Cine-città. The inaugural evening, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, was part of the broader relaunch of the Via Nizza museum promoted by director Cristiana Perrella, who described the space as a hybrid place where a bookstore, study rooms, and cinema coexist with exhibitions.

The weeks of December inaugurated the rhythm that was then maintained throughout the season: evening screenings dedicated to new Roman cinema, with authors present in the room, and Sunday matinées built around the great films that told the story of the capital, thanks to the collaboration with the CSC — Cineteca Nazionale. A debut that brought, for the first time, stable film programming into a civic museum of Rome Capital, in the Lazio region.
