Cigliano Carnival

Defined by Mayor Giorgio Testore as "the year zero of the Carnival," the 2025 edition brought back to Cigliano the historic masks that had been absent since 1992. The program opened on February 21 at the SOMS hall with the evening "Viva Gian, festegiuma 'l Carlevé," dedicated to footage of past carnivals and the presentation of the edition. Between March 14 and 15, the historic court visited the local nursing home, the nursery school, and the town's comprehensive school; the ceremony of the handing over of the keys took place in the Council Chamber, followed by the presentation of the General and the coronation of the Queen from the town hall balcony. On Saturday, March 15, there was a masked afternoon for children at the Multipurpose Hall, while on Sunday, March 16, the grand parade set off from Piazza Don B. Lorenzetti with the General, the Queen, the historic court, and the Fagioluic, accompanied by the Cigliano Philharmonic. The Province of Vercelli thus rediscovered one of its most cherished traditions.
