Edition 2025 — Custonaci Living Nativity

The 41st edition of the Custonaci Living Nativity took place in the Grotta Mangiapane over two periods: December 25-28, 2025, and January 3-6, 2026. As part of the Natale al Borgo festival (December 7, 2025 - January 6, 2026), over 150 costumed performers animated the Scurati cave village with ancient crafts, markets, concerts, and the Befana Day.

The 2025-2026 edition

The 41st edition of the Custonaci Living Nativity upheld the tradition that has animated the Grotta Mangiapane in the Municipality of Custonaci (province of Trapani) since 1983. Performances were held over two festive weekends, from December 25 to 28, 2025, and from January 3 to 6, 2026, generally from the afternoon until evening.

Over a hundred performers in period attire recreated the crafts of rural Sicily at the end of the 19th century, including bread-making, cheese and oil production, ceramics, bagpipe songs, and storytelling. The event was the heart of the Natale al Borgo - The Nativity of Sicily program, running from December 7, 2025, to January 6, 2026, with Christmas markets, workshops, exhibitions, tastings, concerts, and roaming shows, culminating in the Befana Day on January 6th. The entrance ticket to the nativity was approximately 12 euros for adults and 6 euros for children.
