Christmas in Polignano a Mare

The 2025-2026 edition

Christmas in Polignano a Mare 2025 kicked off on December 8th with the official lighting of the illuminations, continuing until January 6, 2026. The light installations of the Christmas Lights project illuminated the entire old town, from the alleys of the historic center to the viewpoints over the sea.

The markets, active daily (roughly from 4:30 PM to 10:00-11:00 PM), were spread across Piazza Aldo Moro, Via San Vito, Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, Piazza San Benedetto, and the narrow streets of the center, featuring Apulian ceramics, local crafts, and specialties such as cartellate, pettole, candied almonds, mulled wine, and hot chocolate. From December 26th to January 6th, the historic center hosted the living nativity scene (5:00 PM - 9:00 PM), with some days also held at the Abbey of San Vito. Grand finale with New Year's Eve in Piazza Aldo Moro and the Epiphany celebration dedicated to children, with the arrival of the Befana.

The 2025-2026 holiday season

• December 8, 2025 — Lighting of the Christmas Lights and opening of the markets in the historic center
• Daily (Dec 8 - Jan 6) — Artisan and food markets, 4:30 PM - 10:00/11:00 PM, across Piazza Aldo Moro, Via San Vito, Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, and Piazza San Benedetto
• Weekends — Small concerts, street performers, creative workshops for children, roaming performances, and the arrival of Santa Claus
• December 26 - January 6 — Living nativity scene in the historic center, 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM, with some days at the Abbey of San Vito
• December 31 — New Year's Eve in Piazza Aldo Moro with music and DJ sets until after midnight
• January 6 — Epiphany celebration for children with games and the arrival of the Befana
