Edition 2025 — Christmas in Floridia

The 2025 edition of 'Christmas in Floridia' enlivened the historic center from December 5th to Epiphany. The heart of the event was the Feast of the Immaculate Conception: on Sunday, December 7th, the 'Scupiddi' procession moved from Piazza Marconi to the Mother Church, followed by the lighting of the tree and illuminations in Piazza del Popolo. Highlights included exhibitions at the Nunzio Bruno Museum, the Living Nativity Scene on December 26th, the 'Fucati' on December 24th, and the 40th edition of the Floridia Nativity Scene Competition.

Christmas in Floridia 2025, promoted by the municipal administration, opened on December 5th with the art exhibition 'Dialogues in the Nativity Scene' at the Nunzio Bruno Museum and the first of the nativity-homes in the historic center. The highlight came on Sunday, December 7th, with the 'Scupiddi' procession, which started from Piazza Marconi towards the Mother Church, followed in Piazza del Popolo by a musical performance on the 'Magnificat' and the lighting of the Christmas tree, featuring a five-meter luminous reindeer. In the evening, a concert by the Camerata Polifonica Siciliana took place in the Mother Church.

The program continued with the Floridia Marathon and 'Christmas per Square Kilometer' (December 20th), the 'Christmas Candyland' village (December 21st), the traditional 'Fucati' of Christmas (December 24th), and the Living Nativity Scene at the Via Giulia Gardens (December 26th). The festival closed on January 6th with the awards ceremony for the 40th edition of the Floridia Nativity Scene Competition, reflecting a tradition deeply rooted in the community of Floridia, in the province of Syracuse.
