Christmas Festivities in Motta Camastra

The 2025-2026 edition of the Christmas Festivities in Motta Camastra confirmed the widespread format that characterizes Christmas in this Alcantara Valley village, in the province of Messina. From December 8th until Epiphany, the historic center was lit up with illuminations and decorations, hosting markets of local products and crafts, concerts and shows, creative workshops for children, and traditional religious celebrations.

There was no shortage of tastings of the Christmas sweets of the Motta tradition, from the cuddureddi di Natali filled with walnuts and honey to the mastrazzola, an expression of the village's peasant memory. The initiative, promoted by the Municipality of Motta Camastra, highlighted local traditions and offered residents and visitors moments of social connection and culture during the festive period.
