Edition 2025 โ€” Choralia

The second edition of Choralia took place in Cortona from April 25 to 27, 2025, dedicated to Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Princeps Musicae, on the 500th anniversary of his birth. Three days of great sacred masterpieces in the Church of San Domenico, including Mozart's Coronation Mass and a Vivaldi concert dedicated to the Venetian composer's sacred repertoire. Free admission.

The second edition of Choralia was held in Cortona from April 25 to 27, 2025, dedicated to Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Princeps Musicae, on the 500th anniversary of his birth. The festival brought some of the greatest sacred music masterpieces to the Church of San Domenico.

The program featured an inaugural concert dedicated to Palestrina with the Quartetto Polifonico Romano, Mozart's Symphony No. 29 and Coronation Mass KV 317 performed by the Coro Cantoria Nova Romana with the Coro e Orchestra Cittร  di Firenze conducted by Concetta Anastasi, and the final concert "Vivaldiade" featuring the sacred repertoire of Antonio Vivaldi. Alongside the concerts, an intensive singing workshop and a lecture-concert on Palestrina were held. All events were free of charge.

Sunday, April 27 โ€” 11:30 AM, City Council Hall

Lecture-concert "G.P. da Palestrina 500 years after his birth" with Maestro Raimundo Pereira Martinez.

Sunday, April 27 โ€” 5:00 PM, Church of San Domenico

"Vivaldiade": Female Vocal Group RomEnsemble, Children's Choir and OIR Ensemble, conductor Annalisa Pellegrini.

Highlights

Mozart's Coronation Mass with over 60 musicians and the final concert "Vivaldiade" dedicated to Vivaldi's sacred repertoire.

Prices

Free admission to concerts. Workshops require a registration fee, free for residents of Cortona.
