Edition 2025 — San Galgano Symphonic Grand Gala

During the 2025 edition of the Chigiana International Festival, titled "Drifts" and running from July 9 to September 2, San Galgano Abbey hosted one of the most acclaimed symphonic concerts of the season. On July 27, the great violist Tabea Zimmermann performed in the abbey's open-air setting, joined by young cellist Ettore Pagano and the Siena Cathedral Choir "Guido Chigi Saracini", for an evening of the highest artistic caliber.

The 2025 edition of the Chigiana International Festival, dedicated to the theme "Drifts", confirmed San Galgano Abbey as one of the festival's iconic stages. On July 27, 2025, the renowned violist Tabea Zimmermann enchanted the audience within the open-air naves of the abbey, accompanied by the talented cellist Ettore Pagano and the Siena Cathedral Choir "Guido Chigi Saracini", conducted by Lorenzo Donati.

The same abbey setting had already hosted, on July 20, the Ensemble Odhecaton directed by Paolo da Col for Palestrina's Missa Papae Marcelli, on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the composer's birth. Two evenings that reaffirmed the festival's commitment to bringing great music to the most beautiful locations in the Sienese territory, with over 100 events and more than 30 world premieres throughout the edition.
